Hyundai has introduced worldwide vehicle, known internally as the BH model, and is initially the market of Genesis as a "premium sports sedan," in a body style with three engines as possible. Genesis, at least not initially introduced in Europe. A coupe version was unveiled at the 2008 New York International Auto Show and will join the sedan at a later date.

According to the President and CEO of Hyundai, Chung Mong-koo, the Genesis is Hyundai's first model in the field of European luxury dominated. According to the vice president of Hyundai, Kim Dong-jin, the name of Genesis is a reflection of where the vehicle is the first of many premium cars the company will introduce.
