The recorded speed of 413 kilo meters per hour (257 mph) was achieved during tests on September 13, 2007 in West Richland, Washington, United States and verified by Guinness World Records on October 9, 2007. The new version known as 2009 SSC Ultimate Aero has been modified to the exteriors, interiors, and the increase of horsepower about 15%. The most important change is the single piece aluminum block engine that improves the oiling capabilities and structure of the engine and in order to prevent the engine from overheating, airflow to the engine has increased 20% with new carbon fiber louvers. The front has been redesigned to make the car more aerodynamic. The new Aero also has a new AeroBrake system, which is a spoiler that rises up to 8 inches when the brake is pressed to slow the vehicle, can be controlled by a switch. 4. McLaren F1
The fastest racing car before the introduction of Bugatti Veyron, the McLaren F1 was designed and manufactured by Gordon Murray and McLaren Automotive. The car was first unveiled at a launch show, 28 May 1991, at The Sporting Club in Monaco. The motorsport division BMW M designed and built Murray a custom 6.1 L (6064 cc) 60-degree V12 engine called the BMW S70/2. To reduce the excessive heat from the carbon fiber body panels and monocoque, Murray used golf foil, a highly efficient heat-reflector: approximately 25 g (0.8 ounce) of gold was used in each car. The McLaren F1 was the first production road car to use a complete carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP) monocoque chassis structure. The car features a central driving position – the driver’s seat is located in the middle, ahead of the fuel tank and ahead of the engine, with a passenger seat slightly behind and on either side. The overall drag coefficient on the standard McLaren F1 is 0.32. There is a small rear spoiler on the tail of the vehicle, which is dynamic, the device will adjust dynamically and automatically attempt to balance the center of gravity of the car under braking, which will be shifted forward when the brakes are applied. The spoiler increases the overall drag coefficient from 0.32 to 0.39 and is activated at speeds equal to or above 40 mph (64 km/h) by brake line pressure. The McLaren F1 uses 235/45ZR17 front tires and 315/45ZR17 rear tires, specially designed and developed by Goodyear and Michelin. The F1 features unassisted, vented and crossdrilled brake discs made by Brembo. With a maximum speed of 240 mph the F1 can reach to 60 mph in 3.2 seconds. The standard McLaren F1 performs the 60-0 mph brake exercise in 2.8 seconds, coming to a full halt in 127 ft (39 m). Up until 1998, when McLaren produced and sold the standard F1 models, they had a price tag of around 970 000 USD. Today the cars can sell for up to nearly twice that of the original price, due to the performance and exclusivity of the machine.

The engine is 65° V12 with 4 valves per cylinder, dual overhead cams and variable valve timing. Bosch Motronic ME7 fuel injection is used and the engine is naturally aspirated. It displaces 5998 cc and produces 651 hp (485 kW) of power and 657 N-m of torque. The Enzo has a semi-automatic transmission (also known as the F1 gearbox) using paddles to control an automated shifting and clutch mechanism, with LED lights on the steering wheel telling the driver when to change gears. The Enzo can accelerate to 60 mph in 3.3 seconds and the top speed is over 350 kilometers per hour (219 mph). The body of the Ferrari Enzo is made of carbon fiber; as a result, the car is of less weight. The car features aerodynamic subsystems for better safety and performance. It is also equipped with active suspension for comfort riding in the sports mode. The wheels are wrapped with Bridgestone tires and it features carbon ceramic discs with six piston calipers. The car also features Anti Braking System and power steering. The exteriors feature the stylish body structure, headlights and tail lights.

The Lamborghini Reventón was first shown at the 2007 Frankfurt Auto Show. According to the official press release, the Reventón exterior styling was inspired by the “the fastest airplanes”. Despite the exterior being new, almost all the mechanical elements are slightly tuned version of the Murciélago LP640’s 6.5 L V-12, rated at 640 hp (480 kW). According to the official release, the Reventón accelerates to 100 km/h (62 mph) in the same time as the Murciélago LP640 (3.4 seconds), and is capable of reaching a maximum speed of over 340 km/h (210 mph). The instrument panel in the Reventón comprises three TFT liquid crystal displays (LCDs). The G-Force-Meter is completely new and displays the dynamic longitudinal drive forces of longitudinal acceleration, during acceleration and braking. It has the most power Lamborghini engine and it is the fastest Lamborghini out there. Its production is limited to 20 models and was sold out before the cars were even made.

1. Bugatti Veyron
The Bugatti Veyron EB 16.4 is the most expensive and second fastest a grand tourer developed by the German car-manufacturer Volkswagen and produced by Bugatti Automobiles SAS. It is named after French racing driver Pierre Veyron, who won the 24 hours of Le Mans in 1939 while racing for the original Bugatti. The Veyron features an 8.0 L W16 engine — 16 cylinders in two banks of eight cylinders, or the equivalent of two narrow-angle V8 engines mated in a “W” configuration. The engine is fed by four turbochargers and displaces 7,993 cubic centimeters. The transmission consists of a dual-clutch Direct-Shift Gearbox computer-controlled manual gearbox with seven gear ratios, with magnesium paddles behind the steering wheel and a shift time of less than 150 milliseconds. It uses special Michelin PAX run-flat tires, designed specifically for the Veyron. The Bugatti Veyron has a total of 10 radiators and has a drag coefficient of 0.41 (normal condition) and 0.36 (after lowering to the ground). According to Volkswagen Group, final production Veyron engine produces 736 kilowatts and generates 1,250 N-m of torque. This supercar can reach 200 and 300 km/h in 7.3 and respectively 16.7 seconds, wining the name of the quickest-accelerating production car in history. The brakes are cross-drilled, radially-vented Carbon fiber-reinforced Silicon Carbide (C/SiC) composite discs, specially manufactured by SGL Carbon. As an added safety feature, in the event of brake failure, an Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) has also been installed on the handbrake. Bugatti claims the Veyron will brake from 400 km/h (250 mph) to a standstill in less than 10 seconds.
