Honda has finally unveiled its long-awaited (buy some, at least) 2008 Honda Accord. Available as a sedan or a coupe, the new eighths generation Accord comes with a choice of three engines, including a range-topping 3.5L iVTEC six-pot producing 268 horsepower and 250 lb-ft of torque.

The 2008 Honda Accord 3.5L, company is reporting in its press release, features pretty impressive for its size and weight 19/29 mpg fuel economy, partly due to its Variable Cylinder Management system, which shuts down two or even three of its six cylinders when there is no need in extra power.

The V6, as well as a pair of 2.4-liter inline four-bangers, may be mated with a 5-speed standard manual, a 5-speed automatic (standard on sedan V-6 models, available with all 4-cylinder engines and V-6-powered Accord Coupes,) and a 6-speed manual transmission (exclusive to the Accord Coupe EX-L V-6 6MT).

The list of other equipment is pretty standard for this class of Japanese cars. You may order the car with one of three standard audio systems - all with MP3/Windows Media Audio (WMA) playback capability and an auxiliary input jack; Honda Satellite-Linked Navigation System with voice activation (available on EX-L) with an 8-inch screen, and this sort of stuff.
